Giveaway: Pelé King of Soccer

With World Cup fever running high, books about fútbol are really popular right now. Unfortunately (and surprisingly), there are not that many bilingual children's books on this subject as Lydia has already mentioned.

But one of our favorites is Monica Brown's Pelé: King of Soccer. And we are excited to announce that Ms. Brown has offered to give a signed copy of Pelé to one of our lucky readers. Below is a book trailer that she has created.

THE GIVEAWAY:

• To enter for your chance to win this giveaway, simply leave a comment letting us know why you would like this book.

The deadline to enter is Saturday, July 3rd. The winner will be chosen using Random.org. and announced next Sunday, July 4th!

For an additional chance to win, share with us the following:

• Of all the teams competing (or have competed) for the World Cup, which one is your family's favorite?

Don't forget to let us know by posting a separate comment for each entry!

¡Buenas suerte!

Disclosure: The author has offered the book to the LBBC to be given away to one of our readers.

In a home where the "futbol" is debil because of the 2 cultures (latin and anglo) and Dad being anglo plus non-sports-interested-guy, this is a book we would love so my little boy learns more about futbol!! Si!!

Our favorite team playing in the World Cup this year was Team USA! We are really proud of them even though they are out of the running now.

Thanks for the chance to win this book for the niños!

My son just had his preschool sport camp last week and soccer was one of the sports he learned. What a better way to continue the exposure (and hopefully his love) to soccer.

Fútbol is HUGE in my house. My husband comes from a professional soccer family. His grandfather was a trainer for two of the best clubs in México.
We need to instill the fútbol passion in our chiquita so she will let papá watch el fútbol a gusto en la casa!

Our favorite team is always México! Too many emotional ties associated. The loss vs Argentina hit us hard!

Oh, and our (maybe mine since I'm the only futbolera in the family!) favorite team is BRAZIL!

an is from South Africa and has really gotten our children interested in soccer because of the games being held there. We have also been trying to build our own small library of bilingual books, so the two would go hand-in-hand.

My husband is really into soccer, so he'd be thrilled to have some soccer books in our kid library. Our favorite teams are US and England.

In the midst of following el mundial I can't think of better timing. It will go along with all the singing of "esto es Africa" going on around here!
